Home Lab 2.1

Having failed miserably at updating the firmware on my newly acquired server (bottom),  I decided to at least put my network routing lab back together. Poor routers were just sitting there on the floor, looking all depressed. Still need to wire them up and reconfigure my Avocent terminal server ports to support the new set up, but at least they're back where they belong.

I also decided to properly homerun all of my wired home network connections to this new demarc/rack and terminate them on the 3560G Cisco switch, which is the only gigabit switch I could find in my pile of switches. I added descriptions to the switchports to aid in troubleshooting later (where the hell does THIS wire go?!), but may start playing around with vlans and intervlan routing just for fun. I can at least contain some broadcasts, right?!

Entering my 5th year in networking and I still get excited playing with hardware. Not sure what that says about me, but I love to learn and there's plenty of that to go around in the networking field.
